Cats and kittens need a strong immune system to ward off diseases. Getting them vaccinated is the main to boost their immunity. Kitten vaccinations should begin at 6 weeks old. Between 6-10 weeks old your kitten should receive their FVRCP shot. At 11-14 weeks old they should be given feline leukemia shots and FVRCP. At 16 weeks old or older your kitten can receive rabies, FVRCP and feline leukemia vaccines.
A year after completing kitten vaccines adult cats should get booster shots. Adult cats may need feline distemper, rabies, FVRCP and leukemia vaccines.
Yes. The general time frames for kitten and cat vaccinations are based on indoor cats. We generally recommend keeping your cats indoor and away from other animals until they are vaccinated. There is a small possibility your pet may experience some side effects. The side effects usually disappear within a day or two. Your kitten or cat may have a fever, loss of appetite, lethargy or swelling where they received their vaccines. If you become concerned about any side effects be sure to reach out to us for instructions.
