At Fort Garry Veterinary Hospital, we know that you want to take the best care of your pet. So you are aware of what to expect when you see our Winnipeg veterinarian, we have put together helpful information on payment options. We encourage you to review this information before you bring your pet in for veterinary services. This way, you know what to expect and you can plan ahead.
Please note, we must require that payment is rendered at the time of services. We do not bill our customers. We believe that this keeps our cost down and allows us to provide better customer service to all of our pet parents during appointments. Thank you in advance for understanding and being prepared.
We accept payment by debit card, credit card, and cash. Credit cards that we accept are Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. If you have any questions about payment methods, or costs for services, we invite you to contact us ahead of time. Please bring payment with you when you come to minimize waiting and be respectful of other patients.
We sometimes run specials on our veterinary services to reward our loyal customers. These specials may allow you to schedule your pet for services for less than they would usually cost. We post our specials on our website and are always happy to let you know about current or upcoming specials via telephone, so please call us!
We know that veterinary care can be costly. Yet the expense is necessary for pet owners who wish to keep their pets in the very best health, and avoid disease. We are happy to accept pet insurance here at Fort Garry Veterinary Hospital.
Pet insurance operates like medical insurance. You pay a monthly premium for your pet, and the insurer covers medical procedures. As with medical insurance, you are responsible for your co-pay at the time services are rendered.
Pet insurance plans differ, just like medical insurance does. Some plans only cover accidents, which can provide "just in case" peace of mind for pet owners. Others offer comprehensive care for pets, covering both accidents and regular, preventative measures.
It is best to purchase pet insurance when your pets are young. Otherwise, you risk a pet having a pre-existing condition that would not be covered. Senior pets may not be eligible since they have greater health needs. We are more than happy to point you toward reputable pet insurance companies, but do not have information on their specific policies. We direct you to ask any questions you have to them directly.
